XDeep Stealth 2.0 REC Sidemount System

The XDeep Stealth 2.0 REC Sidemount System provides a professional solution for demanding recreational and sports divers. This system builds on advanced materials and proven designs from the famous TEC and Classic families.

Consequently, it offers a strong foundation of performance, comfort, and safety for every underwater adventure. The Stealth REC wing, with 13kg of lift, is fixed to the harness to ensure maximum simplicity and security during your dives. Furthermore, it features specialised webbing for enhanced durability.

XDeep Stealth 2.0 REC Sidemount System Features

Freedom for Wrecks and Reefs

Being free of a rigid back-mounted tank allows for excellent freedom of movement in the water. The streamlined wing-and-harness combination provides the key to a balanced and relaxed diving experience.

By carrying twin cylinders in a sidemount configuration, you achieve the most stable way to dive. Moreover, the XDeep Stealth 2.0 REC keeps cylinders tight to your body to eliminate unwanted movement. This perfect balance reduces drag and significantly improves your gas consumption.

Easy access to buoyancy control

The XDeep Stealth 2.0 was the first system to feature a revolutionary central dump valve. This location is easy to reach with either hand, allowing you to vent gas without changing your position. Because you maintain a horizontal profile while adjusting buoyancy, your dives become much safer and more relaxing.

Additionally, the Stealth REC wing uses tough, long-lasting materials to protect against wear from boat or shore entries. These smart materials preserve the system's integrity over time.

XDeep Stealth Weight System

The XDeep weight management system effortlessly handles weight loads from 1kg to over 12kg. You can move the central weight pocket to find the ideal position relative to your centre of gravity. This flexibility allows you to achieve perfect trim and balance, even when using multiple cylinders.

Furthermore, the world-class design ensures that weights remain secure and immovable throughout the entire dive. Proper weighting is vital, especially when using drysuits with thick undersuits in colder water.

XDeep Stealth 2.0 TEC vs REC: Which Sidemount System is Best?

Choosing between the XDeep Stealth 2.0 TEC and REC sidemount systems can determine how far your diving progresses. While both share the same innovative platform, they are designed for very different purposes.

The REC is perfect for straightforward recreational dives, offering simplicity and comfort. However, the TEC version goes much further—providing greater lift capacity, improved durability, and true scalability for more demanding environments. READ MORE

Product FAQs

What are the primary differences between the Xdeep Stealth 2.0 Tec and Rec?
The most significant differences lie in lift capacity and the harness design. The Stealth 2.0 REC provides only 13kg (28.6 lbs) of lift and features a harness with quick-release (QR) buckles on the shoulders, making it behave more like a traditional jacket-style BCD for easy donning and doffing. It is designed for streamlined, recreational dives typically involving no more than two cylinders.

In contrast, the future-proof Stealth 2.0 TEC is built for heavy-duty technical diving, offering 19kg (41.8 lbs) of lift to support multiple stage cylinders. Its harness is a DIR-style (Doing It Right) single-piece webbing without break points, providing maximum stability and durability. The TEC wing also features a reinforced upper section to protect against abrasion in overhead environments like caves or wrecks.
Is there a full comparison between the Stealth 2.0 Tec & Rec
There certainly is! We have a detailed blog post prepared just for those asking the same questions. Check out our Tec Vs. Rec review for detailed information.
Can I use the Stealth 2.0 Tec for recreational diving?
You certainly can! The Stealth 2.0 TEC is highly versatile and can be used for recreational diving just as effectively as for deep technical dives. Its design allows it to remain incredibly streamlined even when fully inflated. Many divers choose the TEC version for recreational use because it is "future-proof," allowing them to progress into technical training without needing to buy a new sidemount wing later.

With that said, the REC version might be preferable for a dedicated recreational diver who prioritises ease of donning and doffing. The quick-release buckles on the REC harness are often more familiar and convenient for boat diving or shore entries where you may want to remove the gear quickly. If you have no intention of carrying more than two tanks or entering tight overhead restrictions, the REC offers a lighter, simpler configuration.
Which weight system does the Stealth 2.0 use, and is it compatible with both?
Both the TEC and REC versions utilise the same central modular weight system, which is one of the most acclaimed features of the Stealth 2.0 series. This system places the weight along the diver’s spine, allowing for perfect trim and balance.

The weight pockets come in various sizes (Small, Medium, Large, and Wide) and can hold up to 22kg (48.5 lbs) of lead, depending on the chosen pocket.

The weight system is completely independent of the wing, meaning you can swap between a TEC wing and a REC wing while keeping your harness and weight configuration identical. This modularity allows you to customise the amount of weight and its exact position on your back to achieve a "flat" horizontal trim, regardless of whether you are diving in a thin wetsuit or a heavy drysuit.
Does the Stealth system come with a redundant bladder for wetsuit diving?
Both the TEC and REC models are available in redundant bladder (RB) versions: Tec RB Wing System
& the Rec RB Wing System.

You can even choose the custom colour of your wing system through the links above.
