Introduction & Company Information
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which goods and products are sold by Underwater Explorers Ltd, trading online as DirDirect (“we”, “us” and “our”), to customers (“you” and “your”) through our primary website, www.dirdirect.com, and its redirects including www.dirdirect.eu, www.dirdirect.co.uk and www.dirdirect.info (“the Site”).
DirDirect is an online e-commerce site offering worldwide delivery and is operated by the UK-based physical dive store Underwater Explorers Ltd.
We are registered in England and Wales under company number 5591766. Our registered office is Midland House, 2 Poole Road, Bournemouth BH2 5QY. Our trading and physical contact address is Underwater Explorers, Unit 1, Maritime Business Centre, Mereside, Portland, Dorset DT5 1FD, United Kingdom. Our VAT number is GB 684 884 471.
Orders & Contract Formation
When you place an order with us, you make an offer to purchase products under these Terms and Conditions. By placing an order, you also agree to our Privacy Policy, Cookies Policy, Shipping Policy and Returns & Refunds Policy.
A contract between you and us is formed only when we accept your order and dispatch the relevant product or products. Products on the same order that are not dispatched do not form part of that contract, including any items on backorder.
You may cancel your order before dispatch for a refund, unless the order includes a special order, custom-made, manufactured-to-order or otherwise non-cancellable item that has already been confirmed or put into progress. Further details and exceptions are set out in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
We reserve the right to reject or cancel any order, wholly or in part, at our discretion. If we decline or cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid in UK pound sterling (GBP) to the original payment method where possible.
Ownership of products transfers to you only once payment has cleared, and the products have been delivered to you.
By placing an order through the Site, you confirm that you are legally capable of entering into a binding contract, that you are at least 18 years old, and that you have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions and the policies linked from them.
Special Orders & Custom Products
Products marked as special orders, custom orders, tailored configurations, modified products, made-to-order products or products specially sourced for you are ordered or prepared specifically in response to your request.
Where an item is made to your specification, customised, modified, manufactured to order, or otherwise specially obtained and not normally held as standard stock (listed as Special Order), it may be excluded from the statutory 14-day cancellation right and from our standard goodwill returns policy, except where the item is faulty, defective or subject to a valid warranty claim.
The automated electronic EU withdrawal or cancellation function, including any two-step cancellation button provided by the online platform, cannot be used to cancel or withdraw from confirmed special orders, made-to-measure or customised products, once they have been accepted or put into progress. We reserve the right to decline cancellation, withdrawal or return requests for these items, except where your statutory rights apply.
Availability, Product Information & Pricing
All products are subject to availability. We aim to provide accurate dispatch information and maintain sufficient stock levels, but stock shortages, manufacturer delays and supply chain issues may occur. If your order is affected, we will contact you, and you may choose to wait, receive a full refund, or receive a partial refund for any unavailable items. We are not liable for delays caused by stock shortages or manufacturer supply issues.
Product descriptions are provided in the relevant product listing. Product images are for illustration and representation only, and the product supplied may differ slightly from the image shown.
All listed product prices include UK VAT where applicable. Our online system automatically deducts VAT where applicable for eligible international orders, and we have procedures in place to deliver to BFPO addresses.
Prices may change without notice, but changes will not affect orders already accepted. We aim to display accurate prices, but errors may occasionally occur. If a pricing error affects your order, we may contact you for instructions or cancel the order and issue a refund.
International Orders & Delivery Restrictions
We ship worldwide, except to Russia and Belarus. We also reserve the right to restrict delivery to conflict-affected regions, sanctioned territories, or locations subject to local laws, international restrictions, or logistical trade barriers.
Most of our catalogue is available for global delivery. However, some manufacturers and brands, i.e. Fourth Element and Scubapro, operate trading or distribution policies that may restrict our ability to fulfil online orders outside authorised territories.
Payment Security & Fraud Prevention
High-value UK orders and orders from outside the UK may only be dispatched to the registered or verified card billing address where a credit or debit card is used. Orders paid through PayPal or PayPal Credit will normally only be shipped to PayPal-verified addresses unless we agree otherwise in advance.
We aim to protect legitimate cardholders and payment account holders from fraud. We may report and cooperate with the appropriate authorities when we suspect attempted fraud, unauthorised use of payment, or other unlawful activity.
Diving Equipment, Training & Responsibility
By purchasing diving equipment from us, you acknowledge that professional training and certification from a recognised diving agency is required for the safe use of most products designed for underwater use.
You agree that any scuba diving or underwater equipment purchased from DirDirect is bought on the understanding that you are trained, qualified and competent to inspect, prepare, maintain and use that equipment within the limits of your training, experience and the manufacturer’s instructions.
You agree to follow all relevant manufacturer, training agency and industry guidance for equipment use, care, servicing and maintenance. This includes regular visual inspections, functional checks, lubrication, O-ring replacement where required, freshwater rinsing after inland, pool, or sea use, and taking appropriate measures to prevent damage from saltwater, chlorine, limescale, poor storage, or misuse.
All diving-related products listed and sold on our website are intended for recreational use only unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing. They are not supplied or warranted for military, governmental, rental, commercial or professional operational use. Commercial, governmental or military customers should contact us directly for quotations or specific arrangements.
Cancellations, Returns & Refunds
You may cancel your order before dispatch for a full refund, provided the item is not a confirmed special order, tailor-made item, custom product, modified product or other item already ordered or prepared specifically for you.
For UK customers, we offer a goodwill extended returns policy for eligible unused products returned within 30 days of delivery.
International customers may return eligible purchases within 14 days of delivery, provided the item qualifies for the statutory cooling-off period and is returned unused, with its original packaging, labels and tags.
These Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights, including your rights in relation to faulty, defective or misdescribed goods. Please read our Returns & Refunds Policy for full details.
Terms of Delivery
In-stock items shown as 1 to 2-day dispatch will normally be dispatched within 2 working days. We aim to dispatch all goods within 7 days of receiving your order and will notify you if an exception applies.
While we aim to deliver orders as quickly as possible, please allow up to 7 working days for UK delivery and up to 14 working days for international delivery unless a different timescale is stated. By proceeding to checkout, you accept these delivery terms, which are explained in more detail in our Shipping Policy.
Privacy & Security
To process your order, fulfil our contract with you and provide customer support, we collect and securely process the personal information required to complete your purchase. Full details of the information we collect, how we use it and who may access it are set out in our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy.
We do not receive or store sensitive payment card details. Payment information is handled securely via encrypted online payment gateways, such as PayPal or other authorised payment providers.
