Halcyon Symbios HUD:
A Complete Dive Computer in Your Line of Sight

The Halcyon Symbios HUD is a full-function 5-gas dive computer that can be used independently as a standalone mask-mounted computer, or integrated with other components in the connected Halcyon Symbios ecosystem.

Mounted to the mask frame, the HUD keeps information stable and consistently visible without having to check a wrist-mounted computer. This can reduce task loading during complex dives, gas sharing, bailout, photography, videography, survey work or any situation where hands-free access to data is valuable.

Compact, lightweight, and highly advanced, the Symbios HUD supports open-circuit, fixed or integrated CCR, integrated sidemount, gauge, and buddy-screen functionality. It is suited to recreational, advanced, technical, expedition, rebreather, professional and underwater imaging divers who want important data clearly visible throughout the dive.

Multi-Gas, Trimix, CCR and Sidemount Capability

The Symbios HUD uses the Bühlmann ZHL16-C algorithm with adjustable gradient factors. It can accommodate up to five gases for open-circuit diving, fixed or integrated CCR, integrated sidemount and gauge modes.

Depth-rated to 120 metres, the HUD operates on a rechargeable Li-ion battery and provides up to 12 hours of runtime across five brightness levels. It can display key dive information including CNS, OTO accumulation, CO2 data where available, gradient factor information and normal maximum average values for the dive.

Large, Clear Near-Eye Display

The Symbios HUD uses a full-colour micro-display to create a large, easy-to-read virtual image in front of the diver. This allows critical information to be read quickly at a glance, without needing to adjust position or shift attention away from the dive.

The display is designed to remain stable and readable while moving, working, filming, handling equipment or managing more demanding dive situations.

Wireless Technology, CCR Integration and Team Awareness

With advanced Symbios wireless technology, the HUD can receive data from compatible connected sources including the Symbios Tank Pod, rebreathers, DPVs, GPS or positioning systems, trim sensors and other supported Symbios-enabled devices.

  • From the Symbios Tank Pod: gas pressure and real-time diver orientation / trim feedback
  • From compatible Symbios-connected CCR systems: PO2 values, battery state, CO2, scrubber temperature and other available rebreather data
  • From Symbios-enabled products: future-ready integration with supported devices such as GPS pods, DPVs and other connected equipment

The Symbios HUD can also support team awareness by displaying selected buddy or student data where compatible devices are paired. This is particularly useful for instructors, CCR divers and teams operating in demanding or low-visibility environments.

The HUD also provides wireless CCR integration, helping compatible systems display key rebreather data without additional wired connections or dependencies.

The set fulfils all EMC requirements and is FCC- and CE-compliant.

Please note: This listing is for the Symbios HUD only. The Halcyon Tank Pod and Symbios Handset Dive Computer are optional components unless specifically included in a package.

Product FAQs

What is the Halcyon Symbios HUD?
The Halcyon Symbios HUD is a complete mask-mounted dive computer that displays important dive information directly in the diver’s line of sight. Unlike a simple external display, the Symbios HUD can operate independently as a standalone dive computer or as part of the wider Halcyon Symbios ecosystem, alongside the Symbios Handset, Tank Pod, and compatible connected devices.
Does the Halcyon Symbios HUD need the Symbios Handset Dive Computer to work?
No. The Symbios HUD is a fully functional dive computer and does not require the Symbios Handset to operate. It can be used on its own for open-circuit, Trimix, CCR, sidemount and gauge diving, or combined with the Symbios Handset and other ecosystem components for a more integrated setup.
What are the advantages of using a HUD dive computer?
A Head-Up Display dive computer allows divers to monitor information without looking down at a wrist-mounted device. The Symbios HUD keeps critical dive data continuously visible, which can reduce task loading during technical dives, CCR diving, photography, videography, equipment handling, training and demanding underwater situations.
Does the Halcyon Symbios HUD work with the Tank Pod?
Yes. It is part of the Symbios ecosystem. When paired with the Halcyon Symbios Tank Pod, the HUD can display wireless cylinder pressure information and provide real-time diver trim feedback. The Tank Pod adds gas monitoring and body position awareness while keeping information directly in the diver’s field of view.
Can the Halcyon Symbios HUD be used for CCR diving?
Yes. The Symbios HUD supports fixed and integrated CCR diving. When used with compatible Symbios-connected rebreather systems, it can provide wireless access to important CCR information, such as PO₂ values and other available system data, directly on the HUD display.
What dive modes and gases does the Halcyon Symbios HUD support?
The Symbios HUD supports open circuit, Trimix, fixed CCR, integrated CCR, integrated sidemount and gauge modes. It uses the Bühlmann ZHL16-C algorithm with adjustable gradient factors and supports up to five OC/CC gases.
Can I set up and update the Symbios HUD through the Halcyon app?
Yes. The Halcyon app allows divers to configure the Symbios HUD, manage gas settings, customise preferences, download dive data, update firmware and simulate dives before entering the water. The app is an important part of the connected Symbios ecosystem.
