The Ammonite Accu Type 9 Battery was created to be a low profile, low Wh rated and lightweight travel unit mainly for travelling divers flying to dive destinations. 

Due to the risks associated with lithium batteries, transportation is globally subject to strict rules which differ from country to country and from modality to modality. Stricter requirements apply to air freight than to sea freight or road transport. Moreover, the regulations are constantly changing.

This is the reason why Ammonite created the Ammonite Battery - Accu Type 9 with a watt-hour rating lower than 100Wh as operator approval is not required this battery pack to be carried by the passenger.

Ammonite Accu Type 9 is a 9Ah Li-Ion battery encased in a robust hard anodised canister. It will provide 1.55-3 hours for the Solaris head and 9.35-16 hours for the Speleo MK2 head.

Ammonite System is modular

Due to the modular design concept, you have the possibility to configure your umbilical light set regarding your needs.


All Ammonite umbilical lights, cables, batteries and heating batteries are equipped with the same chinch-type connector.


So when one of the parts wears out, or you would simply want to upgrade it there are no obstacles to doing so.


Modularity also affects the convenience of use and safety. For example, you can change the broken cable for a new one on the diving spot without sending it to the service centre.

Connecting the head and separate battery means you can have a small torch that produces lots of bright light with extensive burn times.

The Ammonite Accu Type 9 contains a lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery pack, completely free of the so-called lazy battery effect and protected against overvoltage.

Durability, reliability and size

The casing of the Accu Type 9 is hard anodised aluminium which can withstand the harshest of conditions.

Ammonite System Accu batteries are some of the smallest and lightest batteries available on the market.

Easy of assembly

In the standard version, the batteries are fitted with a webbing fixed loop fastening to the hip belt. The batteries can also be equipped with alternative fastening systems Sidemount Battery Holder or Accu Clic Mount.

The transport of lithium batteries is subject to international regulation, which can differ if the batteries are transported by air, sea or road.

All Ammonite lithium-ion (Li-Ion) batteries comply with UN Transportation Testing (UN/DOT 38.3) for Lithium Cells and Batteries and ensure the safety of your lithium batteries during shipping.

For international orders containing weights, cylinders (excluding suit inflation bottles), and Suex scooters, please contact us in advance before placing your order.

These products are not included in our global max-capped shipping rates. They are only shipped outside the UK mainland after the freight cost is calculated based on the parcel's total weight, dimensions, delivery location, and the courier service used. We will let you know the cost before processing any order.

All cylinders we ship within and outside of UK mainland are filled and tested on site before being emptied for dispatch. Cylinders shipped outside of the UK will be empty and will also have their valves removed, requiring reassembly after you receive delivery. Twinset manifolds and bands will also be removed and dispatched together with the cylinders for safe global shipping.

RETURNS & REFUNDS

We offer a 30 day return for any product sold under our Returns & Refunds Policy Please contact us before any return with your order number and date details. Note that all returned items are shipped at the customer's own risk and remain the customer's property until received by Underwater Explorers, so please ensure they are packaged well and use reliable postal services with tracking facilities. The goods will be inspected on arrival. 

Return postages are at your own cost and our outbound shipping costs (if items are sold with integrated basic shipping charges i.e. Free shipping for orders £45 and above) the UK shipping rate may be deducted from any UK mainland refund unless linked to a fault/defect claim.
