XDeep Zeos Deluxe Wing System

The XDeep Zeos Deluxe Single Tank Wing System is designed to be a more comfortable version of the standard XDeep Zeos. It features Nexus Quick Release Buckles on each shoulder for easier donning and doffing, as well as comfort pads.

The XDeep Zeos Deluxe system is ideal for those who want the balanced trim of a genuine backplate and wing combination but one easier to get in and out.

The XDeep Zeos Deluxe Wing System is especially attractive for divers switching to "wings" from jacket BCs for the first time.

Through technical design, constant testing and evolution, the XDeep Zeos Wing is balanced to help achieve a flat and expert trim. The centre of gravity of the gas in the cylinder and the centre of buoyancy of the Zeos are perfectly matched.

As a result, your stability will be significantly better. You will enjoy improved gas consumption, enhanced buoyancy control, and easier finning. No more sea horse positions forced by traditional BCDs.

The XDeep Zeos Deluxe Wing System comes with either an aluminium or stainless steel backplate and in two lift capacities, 28lbs and 38lbs. It is also available as a different colours and as a Classic Zeos Wing System  with a single-loop harness.

XDeep Zeos Deluxe Wing System features

XDeep Zeos Deluxe Wing System includes

  • XDeep Zeos 28 or Zeos 38 wing with LP Hose
  • XDeep Aluminium or Stainless Steel Backplate with a Deluxe Harness
  • XDeep 3D Mesh Backplate and Shoulder Pads
  • XDeep Aluminium or Stainless Steel Single Tank Adapter with Cam Bands

Super tough Zeos Wing

At the start and end of each dive, the XDeep Zeos Deluxe Wing System holds you high out of the water. The design ensures most of the wing stays underwater, using more buoyancy. This provides extra lift keeping your head and shoulders clear of the waves. Wait in comfort for your pick-up.

Underwater, you can eliminate trade-offs and experience perfect trim made simple and easy by the exact geometry of the XDeep Zeos.

The XDeep Zeos wing features a highly durable outer shell crafted from Cordura® 1100 dTEX, ensuring your scuba gear will withstand more and last longer. Its inner bladder is constructed from Nylon 440dTEX.

Backplate and Deluxe Harness

Choose between beautifully engineered stainless steel or aluminium backplates. The 2.5kg steel backplate is often preferred by drysuit divers, whilst the aluminium is ideal for travelling or wetsuit diving.

The fully adjustable harness features durable Nexus Quick Release Buckles made of polyacetal, resistant to saltwater and extreme temperatures. Easily and quickly adaptable to nearly any body shape, it provides the best fit.

For added comfort, the backplate is fitted with an XDeep 3D Mesh Backplate and Shoulder Pads.

Single Tank Adapter

The XDeep Zeos Deluxe Wing System comes complete with a single-tank adapter and two cam bands that secure all components together. The system with an aluminium backplate comes with an aluminium single tank adapter plate, whilst the steel version comes with a stainless steel one.

Product FAQs

What's the difference between XDeep Zeos "Deluxe" and "Standard"?
The Deluxe Harness gives the Zeos Deluxe its name. Unlike the more-popular Standard Zeos, this harness has break points on either side of the diver, in the form of quick-release buckles similar to traditional jacket-style BCDs. Although they are at a lower level, closer to the diver's waist and backplate, rather than at shoulder level. Their purpose is to make it easier to get in and out of the wing system - especially for divers switching from a jacket BC to wings. Soft shoulder pads and 3D mesh padding on the backplate complement an easier jacket-to-wing transition.

While the price difference between Deluxe and Standard Zeos wing systems is minimal, the Standard system is also an attractive alternative for advanced divers en route to technical diving (and/or training) who plan to switch to twinset diving.

This is based on a continuous-loop harness, a single piece of webbing without break points or clips, threaded through the backplate. It is DIR simplicity, robust, with fewer failure points. Once properly adjusted to your body and what you're wearing, you're ready to go. Note that there is no option for on-the-fly adjustments.
Do I need to use the crotch strap, what's it for?
Simply put, it's the anchor of your rig once adjusted as tightly as possible without causing discomfort during movement. The strap prevents your wing and tank from shifting side-to-side or sliding forward and aids in maintaining horizontal trim - the flat, "skydiver" position that is the hallmark of streamlined diving.

On the surface, the strap will also prevent your rig from "riding up" behind you, locking the harness in place against your body. All wing systems come with crotch straps.
What wing size is best for UK diving - 28 or 38?
It's mostly about lift capacity, not necessarily size, as the flat-out difference in size isn't substantial, with the 38 Lbs wing being slightly larger: 28 lbs/13 Kg vs 38 lbs/17 Kg lift. Our most popular wing for UK diving is the 38. It's the go-to size for many cold-water divers.

In the UK or similar environments, where surface swells can be challenging, the 38lb wing is optimal. It provides the necessary lift to maintain a "heads-up" position and offers a greater safety margin for managing in-water surface emergencies.

The 28, on the other hand, is an equally attractive alternative for travelling divers who mostly dive in warm and temperate waters (if you don't require heavy lead or bulky thermal protection). If you're sticking to a 12L (or less capacity) aluminium or steel cylinder and want minimalism, it will do the job.
What's the difference between a stainless steel and aluminium backplate?
The two plates are identical in size and design. The difference is in the weight. The Aluminium backplate is significantly lighter than the steel, making it ideal for travel, warm or temperate water, and wetsuit diving. It also comes with an aluminium single tank adapter that further reduces weight.

If you want to add weights while reducing the load on your weight belt at your dive destination in a balanced manner, or use the aluminium backplate with a drysuit and undergarments in the UK, there's another way to do so.

You can always add two empty fabric trim weight pockets to your tank straps. For the sake of balance, preferably one on the top band and the other on the bottom one, each aligned against the wing, one up, one down.

Stainless Steel is regarded as the best choice for cold-water diving, adding 2-3 Kg, which automatically allows you to reduce the amount of lead you need to carry on your belt or in your pockets. Most semi-dry and drysuit divers will choose the stainless steel backplate while still using the trim weight pockets on the back.
What is the XDeep modular weight system about?
The Zeos system is designed to reduce or even eliminate the need for a traditional weight belt. For primary weighting, you can use XDeep Modular Weight Pockets. These mount directly to the harness webbing at the waist and feature a secure, quick-release mechanism for emergency ditching. If you require further fine-tuning, "Trim Pockets" can be added to the tank straps (as mentioned above) to perfect your horizontal position; however, please note that trim weights are non-droppable and are intended for fixed buoyancy adjustment.
Can I use the ZEOS system for twinset diving?
Not advisable. The system itself, as in the backplate and harness with crotch strap, is certainly future-proof for twinset diving. The wing, though, is carefully crafted for single-tank diving. While the most popular twinset wings have 40 Lbs lift (only two more than the 38 Zeos) the design of the Zeos wing won't allow you to fully utilise that lift, use it in a streamlined fashion without trapping air. The middle section of the Zeos is narrower, and the wing design is more elliptic to suit single tanks.

If you move on to twinsets in the future, all you need to do is get a purpose-made twinset wing sized for doubles (both in shape and the middle section of the doughnut-bladder) and with minimal air trapping. The Zeos uses industry-standard spacing (11 inches/27.9cm) for the holes in its backplate and wings. This means it is highly compatible with a variety of wing brands, single-tank adapters, and crotch straps.
