Scubapro MK25 EVO G260 Carbon Black Tech with R105 Octopus
The Scubapro MK25 EVO G260 Carbon Black Tech with R105 Octopus upgrades the popular G260 technical diving system. It provides superior durability, thanks to its carbon fiber cover and Black Tech finish. This combination ensures a robust and reliable diving experience.
First and Second Stages
The balanced piston MK25 EVO Black Tech first stage resists freezing very well. It also offers superb inhalation sensitivity, delivering air instantly on demand. The G260 Carbon Black Tech second stage ratchets up its ruggedness with a carbon fibre front cover. Its large diaphragm, internal metal components, and high-flow exhaust valve ensure excellent breathing.
Carbon fibre is lightweight and extremely durable. It resists substantial shocks without damage. Furthermore, the first and second stages feature a Black Tech scratch-resistant metal parts coating. This protects against saltwater and corrosion, extending the regulator's lifespan.
R105 Octopus
The Scubapro R105 Octopus provides dependable breathing performance. It features a classic downstream design, a dive/pre-dive VIVA switch, and a reversible hose attachment.
Key Highlights:
- Carbon fibre cover for superior durability and lightweight design.
- Black Tech coating resists scratches and corrosion.
- Patented XTIS (Extended Thermal Insulating System) enhances cold-water performance.
- Air-balanced valves smooth inhalation effort across varying depths.
- High-flow exhaust valve reduces exhalation effort.
- R105 Octopus offers dependable backup breathing with a high-viz yellow super-flow hose.
Technical Specifications:
- MK25 EVO First Stage Airflow (at 200bar): >8500 l/min
- MK25 EVO First Stage Intermediate pressure: 9.2-9.8 bar
- G260 Carbon Second Stage Weight (without mouthpiece): 244g
DIN or A-clamp first stage?
Most of our divers prefer DIN fitting on the 1st stage regulator. A DIN regulator has a threaded post which screws into the inside of a DIN tank valve and has no additional metal or braces that run behind the valve. This, together with the position of its o-ring, creates a more secure seal on the tank.
YOKE (or A-Clamp) 1st stages have an oblong metal brace that completely encircles the tank valve when in place and is screwed down on the tank valve when the yoke screw is tightened.
Both regulators seal to the scuba tank through an o-ring where the o-ring on a Yoke valve is in the tank valve itself as opposed to DIN regulators with their own o-ring.
DIN fittings are commonly accepted as more secure, but Yoke valves are common throughout North America and recreational tourist destinations. A DIN regulator can be adapted to Yoke valves by using an A-clamp adapter for travel.
