Fourth Element Xerotherm Socks: Ultimate Baselayer Warmth

The Fourth Element Xerotherm Socks are the premier baselayer socks designed for use under drysuit boots.

Fourth Element crafts them using Polartec® Powerstretch®, a fabric originally developed for NASA technology. This material excels at trapping a crucial layer of air next to the skin. Air is a much better insulator than water, keeping you drier and more comfortable. You will find this exceptional performance invaluable during your dives.

The unique knit of the Xerotherm fabric produces the fastest wicking effect within the entire Fourth Element range. It rapidly draws moisture through fine fibres and spreads it over the outer surface. Consequently, this maintains a consistently thin air layer next to your skin.

Many users even report failing to notice minor suit leaks during a dive because of this effective wicking action. Therefore, these socks offer excellent thermal protection and great comfort.

Key Features:

  • Lightweight warmth with minimal bulk.
  • Low bulk allows for comfortable layering.
  • Single-layer, high-wicking fleece fabric.
  • Flat locked stitching ensures superior comfort.
  • Provides excellent thermal protection on its own.
  • Easily layered under another pair of drysuit socks.

These socks are thin enough for comfortable layering, yet robust enough to offer substantial thermal protection independently. You can wear them on their own or underneath another undersuit.

"The performance is superb". This was the reaction of Doug Allan, world-renowned and award-winning underwater filmmaker and author, after testing the Xerotherm in -2 degree (29F) water inside the Arctic Circle in Svalbard, whilst shooting sequences for the BBC production The Blue Planet.
