Fourth Element Arctic Top - Men's
Using a combination of fast-wicking, and high-insulation fabrics, the new Fourth Element Arctic Top with a zip creates a micro-climate around the diver.
Dispatched in 1 to 2 days
The NEW Fourth Element Arctic Top with a zip and pockets is designed with a long body portion to ensure adequate overlap between the top and trousers.
Now with a a low, full front zip for easy donning and to improve overall fit. Thumb loops prevent the sleeves from riding up during donning.
Redesigned Fourth Element Arctic
The 2024 redesign is more than just producing a more OceanPositive product. It builds on Fourth Element’s more than 20 years of experience developing thermal garments and the feedback from some of the many thousands of users of the original Arctic in the field.
The Arctic top now features a full-length zip, allowing easier donning and greater adjustability during the surface interval. The dropped height of the neckline ensures that there is not too much bulk around the neck.
The addition of pockets complements the modifications to the pattern to improve fit and, therefore, the overall thermal performance.
Now, with 80% recycled polyester in the outer and 100% recycled polyester in the internal layer, the Arctic undersuit system has also become part of Fourth Element’s mission to become OceanPositive.
The Arctic creates a micro-climate around the diver
Constructed with comfort and utility in mind, the minimalist design provides outstanding performance under drysuits. In a layering system, the Arctic is suited for use underneath neoprene, membrane and trilaminate suits.
Arctic’s two layers of high insulation and low bulk fabric ensure exceptional levels of thermal protection. Using a unique combination of fast wicking and high insulation fabrics, the Arctic creates a micro-climate around the diver, keeping the body dry and warm.
A high-density inner fleece provides superior insulation, with maximum comfort and wicking, whilst the outer layer, which has a water-repellent finish, ensures a snug fit.
Reduced rate of cooling
The Arctic requires less loft to perform due to more effective management of air held in the suit’s fibres. Instead of maximising the thickness of the layer of air near the skin, the Arctic minimises the movement of air within, reducing the cooling rate without any risk of trapping the air and preventing its release from the dump valve.
Backed by years of field testing by the Norwegian Navy, the British Antarctic Survey Dive Team, the French Marines and the Danish Navy, the Arctic was designed using high-technology fabrics and has been tested in real diving conditions from the Arctic to the Antarctic.
