The Apeks MTX-RC Regulator combines rugged, military grade engineering with a super-smooth breathing experience. It resists free-flows in even the coldest temperatures while offering additional flexibility to adjust the settings for a more comfortable breathing in less extreme environments.

Apeks MTX-RC Regulator: Conquer Any Dive

Experience unparalleled control with the Apeks MTX-RC Regulator. This regulator combines rugged, military-grade engineering. It also delivers the smooth breathing Apeks is known for.

Featuring freeze-resistant technology from the MTX-R range, the MTX-RC resists free-flows. It performs even in the coldest temperatures. Additionally, it offers adjustable settings. These settings ensure comfortable breathing in less extreme environments.

This performance comes from an innovative first stage design. This design protects the regulator from freezing. User controls on the second stage let you adjust breathing. Customise performance to your individual needs.

A tactical messenger bag keeps your Apeks MTX-RC Regulator safe. It is perfectly sized for laptops. Use it as your new work bag too.

  • Cold Water Rated: Dive confidently in frigid waters.
  • Adjustable Settings: Customise breathing for any environment.
  • Durable Design: Military-grade engineering for extreme conditions.
  • Tactical Regulator Bag: Protects your regulator during travel.

MTX-RC First Stage: Performance at Depth

The cold water rated Apeks MTX-RC first stage features an over-balanced diaphragm. As you descend, this diaphragm increases medium pressure faster than ambient pressure. Consequently, this provides superior performance at depth.

Furthermore, the over-moulded endcap and environmental diaphragm, combined with the forged 1st stage body, offer maximum thermal performance. Additionally, the forged rotating turret has parallel medium pressure ports. This, in turn, improves hose orientation. Finally, angled HP ports optimise hose routing and transmitter fitting.

Moreover, it is suitable for cold water use (below 10°C / 50°F). In addition, the 5th 3/8” UNF medium pressure port has a protective bumper. Similarly, the forged first stage body includes heat exchanging ribs. These ribs, therefore, maximise thermal performance. Also, the ribbed diaphragm clamp improves heat exchange in cold water. Finally, it is Nitrox/Oxygen compatible – up to 40% O2 outside the EU.

  • Over-Balanced Diaphragm: Superior deep water performance.
  • Forged Body: Maximum thermal performance.
  • Optimized Ports: Improved hose routing.
  • Cold Water Ready: Dive in temperatures below 10°C.

Second Stage: Customised Breathing

The MTX-RC second stage has an oversized breathing effort adjuster. This, consequently, makes adjustments easy even while wearing gloves in cold water. Furthermore, protective bumpers shield the second stage from impacts and scratches.

Additionally, an ergonomic venturi lever is simple to use. Also, the large purge button is easy to access. Moreover, the reversible second stage works with left or right-hand gas supply. In addition, a patented heat exchanger dissipates cold from gas expansion. Simultaneously, it draws warmth from ambient water. Therefore, this creates a comfortable breathing experience.

Furthermore, the innovative Diver Changeable Exhaust (DCE) system lets you change from a small to a large exhaust tee. Both sets of tees are, of course, included. Moreover, the Comfo-bite mouthpiece ensures comfort. Finally, the flexible nylon braided hose performs better in cold water.

  • Adjustable Breathing Effort: Fine-tune for comfort.
  • Durable Protection: Resists impacts and scratches.
  • Heat Exchanger: Comfortable breathing in cold water.
  • DCE System: Customisable exhaust.

Product FAQs

What is the difference between the DIN and A-clamp versions of the Apeks MTX-RC Regulator?
The lower-profile DIN version screws directly into the cylinder valve for a more secure, leak-resistant connection — which is why it is the preferred version for technical and cold water diving. The A-clamp (Yoke) version clamps over the valve and is not as secure. Both use the same first- and second-stage internals.

With a deeper thread that screws into your cylinder DIN valve and its O-ring seated on the regulator itself rather than the tank valve, the benefits of using DIN include: higher pressure capacity, increased safety and a more streamlined profile.
What is included in the Apeks MTX-RC Regulator?
The MTX-RC Regulator includes one MTX-RC first stage, one MTX-RC second stage, and a tactical messenger bag. It is a single-second-stage configuration — ideal as a starting point or for divers who already have an octopus and/or backup second stage.
Is the Apeks MTX-RC Regulator suitable for UK diving conditions?
Yes. The MTX-RC is cold-water rated (below 10°C / 50°F) and features freeze-resistant technology specifically designed for the conditions encountered in UK and northern European waters.
Can I adjust the breathing effort on the MTX-RC second stage?
Yes. The MTX-RC second stage features an oversized breathing effort adjuster, designed to be operated easily with gloves in cold water. The venturi lever is also ergonomically positioned for simple in-water adjustment.
Is the MTX-RC suitable for a diver planning to move to twinset diving in the future?
Yes — this is one of its key advantages. All you. Need to do is acquire a second first stage and (another second stage if you don't already have one), and add the proper hose lengths to create a full twinset configuration, making this set a future-proof investment for divers progressing toward technical diving.
What is the Diver Changeable Exhaust (DCE) system?
he DCE system allows you to swap between a small and large exhaust tee without tools. A smaller tee reduces bubble interference with your field of vision — useful for photography, videography, or low-visibility diving.
How quickly is the Apeks MTX-RC Regulator dispatched?
When in stock, the DIN version of the MTX-RC is dispatched by courier within 1–2 working days, with free UK mainland delivery. The A-clamp version is a special-order item — please contact us for the lead time before ordering, as it depends on manufacturer availability.
Does the MTX-RC Regulator need to be serviced, and how often?
Apeks recommends servicing annually or every 200 dives, whichever comes first. Apeks operates a fixed-price service scheme in the UK, and DirDirect can advise on authorised service options.
