The Apeks MTX-R Regulator 3 Set has its foundation in the MTX regulator. This regulator was developed following the United States Navy Experimental Dive Unit extreme cold water test.
Innovative design allows the MTX-R regulator to perform exceptionally well. It functions in almost freezing water conditions. Very few other regulators available to consumers can make this claim.
For over 20 years, the military has relied on Apeks regulators. Now, Apeks incorporates that extensive military expertise. They present it in a brand new military specification regulator. This is available exclusively for the consumer market.
The "M" in MTX signifies Military, while the "R" denotes the recreational version. Furthermore, the new MTX-R builds upon the MTX design. As mentioned, this regulator was developed according to the United States Navy Experimental Dive Unit extreme cold water test.
Due to design innovations, the MTX-R regulator excels in near-freezing water. It can operate at depths exceeding 60 metres. This is a performance level that very few other consumer market regulators can achieve.
This regulator set from Apeks has undergone testing for octopus use. It remains effective down to 60m in cold water. This truly makes it a unique offering.
Apeks MTX-R Regulator 3 Set includes
- Apeks MTX-R Second Stage
- Apeks MTX-R First Stage
- Apeks MTX-R Octopus
- Yellow Apeks Flexi Octopus Hose
- Apeks Flexi Regulator Hose
- MTX-R Messenger Bag
MTX-R first stage
The cold water-rated Apeks MTX-R first stage features a unique over-balanced diaphragm. As divers descend, overbalancing increases hose medium pressure faster than ambient pressure. Consequently, it ensures superior depth performance. Additionally, it has an over-moulded endcap and environmental diaphragm. Moreover, the forged 1st stage body maximises thermal performance.
The Apeks MTX-R boasts a forged rotating turret. Medium-pressure ports run parallel. Thus, hose orientation improves. Angled HP ports optimise hose routing. This allows for easy transmitter fitting.
- Suitable for cold water use (below 10°C).
- The 5th 3/8” UNF medium-pressure port has a protective bumper.
- Forged first stage body includes heat exchanging ribs.
- Ribbed diaphragm clamp improves heat exchange in cold water.
- Nitrox/Oxygen compatible up to 40% O2 (outside the EU).
MTX-R Second Stage
The Apeks MTX-R Second Stage performs in near-freezing water. Few consumer regulators achieve this. It is reversible (right and left hand). Also, it has a redesigned, enlarged, patented heat exchanger. This dissipates cold from gas expansion. Metal is incorporated into the front cover. Large protective bumpers guard the 2nd stage.
Beyond extreme cold water ability, the Apeks MTX-R Second Stage is rugged. It withstands expedition knocks and bumps. Specifically, it has a simple-to-use design. It lacks dive adjustment controls. Thus, free flow risk decreases.
- Reversible (left or right hand) design.
- Patented heat exchanger surrounds the valve mechanism.
- Comes with a comfort-bite mouthpiece.
Apeks MTX-R Octopus
Discover the Apeks MTX-R Octopus, a robust and reliable secondary regulator. It withstands harsh conditions and accidental impacts. Furthermore, it includes a vibrant yellow Flexi octopus hose for easy identification. The MTX-R ensures safety and durability in demanding dive environments.
The MTX-R's second stage offers versatile use. Specifically, it features a reversible design for left or right-hand configuration. Moreover, a redesigned, enlarged, and patented heat exchanger surrounds the valve mechanism. Consequently, this design effectively dissipates the cold from gas expansion. Also, metal components have been integrated into the front cover for added strength.
For enhanced protection, the Apeks MTX-R Octopus incorporates large protective elastometer bumpers. These bumpers cover the sides and top, shielding it from damage. Additionally, it features a comfobite mouthpiece, ensuring comfortable use. Ultimately, this octopus is built to endure the rigours of diving.
- Simple to use: No dive adjustment controls; reduces free flow risk.
- Reversible design: Configures for left or right-hand use.
- Comfobite mouthpiece: Ensures comfortable diving experience.
- Yellow Flexi octopus hose: Provides easy visibility and flexibility.
