The AGIR Harpa Loop:
Easy Harness Adjustment Without Break Points

The Agir Harpa Loop is a simple yet innovative design that enables a continuous single-piece harness, often used with DIR (Doing It Right) style diving, to be adjustable without creating break points.

Whether on one side or both sides of your backplate, it forms a system that enables easy and quick adjustment of any continuous loop harness without compromising security.

In simple terms, it functions as a "cinch" system. It resembles a creatively shaped (or intentionally deformed) D-ring welded to an elongated plate that slides through the backplate waist harness slot, allowing the webbing to be threaded through.

It’s a more affordable and safer alternative to pinch-clip jacket-style BCDs or standard and “deluxe” wing systems that have breakpoints caused by harness clips.

This listing is for one (1) Harpa loop and protector strip. If you need more, you can add multiple items to your basket.

Here are the key benefits of the Agir "Harpa Loop" for your diving harness:

·       Effortless Adjustments: The Harpa Loop system allows you to easily tighten or loosen your harness by simply pulling the waist strap. This is particularly useful for divers who find it difficult to don and doff DIR-style harnesses as well as those who switch between different types of exposure protection, such as a wetsuit and a drysuit, and need to adjust their harness for a comfortable and secure fit on the fly.

·       Easy Donning and Doffing: As you’d know if you’d been diving off rigid inflatable boats, a single-piece harness can sometimes be challenging to put on and take off while in the water. The Harpa Loop makes this process much smoother, also for when you're gearing up in tight spaces or on a rocking boat. You can loosen the harness to slide in and then tighten it once you are in position.

·       Clean and Streamlined: The Harpa Loop is a minimalist component that keeps the single-piece harness clean and streamlined. Unlike quick-release buckles, the Harpa Loop integrates seamlessly into the harness webbing.

·       Affordable and Compatible: The Harpa system is an affordable alternative to more complex and expensive adjustable harnesses, such as some high-end Cinch systems. It can be added to many existing standard backplates from various brands, making it a versatile upgrade for many divers.

·       Enhanced Safety: The Harpa Loop offers a safer and more reliable alternative to the pinch clips found on some jacket-style BCDs. By allowing for easy adjustments, the Harpa Loop helps ensure a proper and secure fit throughout the dive. A well-fitting harness is crucial for maintaining good trim and control in the water.

The Agir Brokk "Harpa Loop" is an elegant and effective solution for divers who value a simple, reliable, and adjustable harness system. It provides the benefits of an adjustable harness without compromising the streamlined design of a single-piece webbing system.

Setting up the Harpa

Most divers will find that a single Harpa Loop on the left-hand side is enough for easy donning and doffing.

The Harpa comes with a rubber protector strip. This is designed for aluminium backplates, to be placed between Harpa’s plate and the back of the backplate as protection against damage from dissimilar metals (steel to aluminium).

If using a steel backplate, you can use this protective layer on the front face of the Harpa, which will help to keep it steady in place.

The belt buckle, left-hand D-ring and tri-glide and any rubber bands (snoopy loops) on the waist webbing will need to be removed for the loose webbing to be passed through the Harpa loop. They can then be returned to their original place, where the D-ring and tri-glide will act as an anchor to prevent the harness webbing from sliding out when loosened.

To adjust the harness, pull the webbing down, then up. It’s as simple as that.
