 Due to aviation regulations, the cylinder and valve will be shipped disassembled. It will be the customer’s responsibility to have the cylinder and valve re-assembled.

What brand cylinders does DirDirect supply?

We supply Faber, Luxfer, BTS and MES cylinders which will be stated in individual product descriptions.

What checks do you do before sending out cylinders?

All cylinders received from manufacturers are filled to their working pressure on arrival, and their valves and any manifolds are tested to ensure everything is in working order and there is no leak. On twinsets we also check the position of twinning bands and bolts to align with backplates correctly. O2 and any required VIP stickers are sent together with a sticker confirming the empty cylinder you receive has been tested as above.

How do you ship cylinders for UK delivery?

Cylinders are shipped empty as stated above. Single tanks are sent in individual boxes and are ready to be filled. Twinsets are boxed up assembled, with centre manifold facing down, to prevent accidental damage during transport. Boxes are clearly marked to be transported flat to avoid damage to valves.

Do I need to do anything for twinset deliveries?

Yes, we would appreciate your assistance due to the volume and weight of the shipment and because even leading courier services often use only one driver. Other than cautionary labels, twinset boxes will have a label asking the driver to notify the recipient on arrival to assist with delivery if possible. We would also appreciate it if you inspected the box against any damage and not sign for it if there is any visible damage.

As mentioned in the previous QA, twinset centre manifolds will be turned inwards during shipment. When you receive the twinset you will need to turn it to the position you like and do up the left and right nuts towards the valves to secure it.

Do you ship cylinders outside of mainland UK?

Yes we do. But you need to contact us by email with a delivery address, so we can give you a quote for shipping fees. Twinsets dispatched outside of UK mainland are sent disassembled so you would need to organise for assembly on your side. Single tanks may also have their valve removed due to transport restrictions. Please contact us prior to placing any order for cylinders outside of mainland UK.

What happens if my cylinder is damaged during transport?

Please inspect the delivery and refuse to sign for it if there is any visual damage to the parcel. If the contents are found to be damaged after delivery, be sure to contact us ASAP so we can resolve the issue without further inconvenience. Twinset orders should be carefully examined due to their size and weight.

These products are not included in our global max-capped shipping rates. They are only shipped outside the UK mainland after the freight cost is calculated based on the parcel's total weight, dimensions, delivery location, and the courier service used. We will let you know the cost before processing any order.

All cylinders we ship within and outside of UK mainland are filled and tested on site before being emptied for dispatch. Cylinders shipped outside of the UK will be empty and will also have their valves removed, requiring reassembly after you receive delivery. Twinset manifolds and bands will also be removed and dispatched together with the cylinders for safe global shipping.

RETURNS & REFUNDS

We offer a 30 day return for any product sold under our Returns & Refunds Policy Please contact us before any return with your order number and date details. Note that all returned items are shipped at the customer's own risk and remain the customer's property until received by Underwater Explorers, so please ensure they are packaged well and use reliable postal services with tracking facilities. The goods will be inspected on arrival.

Return postages are at your own cost and our outbound shipping costs (if items are sold with integrated basic shipping charges i.e. Free shipping for orders £45 and above) the UK shipping rate may be deducted from any UK mainland refund unless linked to a fault/defect claim.
