As an alternative to the tighter beam range of LFM backups, this torch is ideal for clear water diving and where a wider beam is required. This strong and wide beam allows for the torch to be used in a variety of conditions though tighter beam alternatives are generally favored among technical divers and divers who frequently dive poor visibility conditions.
With an 800 lumen (19.000 lux at 1m) thrust, this underwater torch that can be hand held, chest mounted or simply mounted on the back of one hand throws out 6500 kelvin of a very strong, narrow and cold light.
Ideal for backup, travel or even to use as a primary for recreational dives. Perfect for harness storage under stage bottles and out of the way.
Ideal for powering heated vests underwater or changing between light heads before or after a dive. The unit comes complete with a charger.
The battery system with E/O cord complements the optional Light For Me 4TEC Light Head with E/O cord or torch heads that can accommodate a 12V 10Ah output.
The Halcyon Mini-Explorer Torch represents a new generation of lighting, blending the proven performance and convenience of Halcyon Exploration lighting with the size and portability of recreational, hand-held lights.
Both recreational and technical divers will be impressed by the intense output of this convenient pocket size light. The Mini-Explorer provides an amazing amount of light (6000 lux at 1m) from a housing roughly the size of a modern-day smart phone while offering run times up to 4.5 hours.*
The Mini Explorer comes with its purpose built standard handle which allows for hands free diving and can be used on either hand. The handle folds down for extra protection and carriage. An optional Goodman Handle can also be ordered and mounted. The standard Mini Explorer comes with lithium batteries but can be upgraded to a NiMH battery and charger set while you order.
You can now also purchase the Explorer 13.5 with a complete E/O cord connection system AND an underwater SP Heated Vest as a Complete Torch and Vest System.
With 3 hours* of burn-time on full power and a powerful 10% beam option, this torch is an ideal UK weekender easily covering two to four dives a day as well as exceptional exposures. For divers who prefer to have a slightly wider angle of light underwater (12 Degrees) for general purpose use and signalling at the same time, the 7XPG is ideal and a serious runner-up for UK type conditions to the LFM 4 TEC which is specifically designed for technical divers with a very narrow beam.
*) 2 hours actual use time leaving 1 hour for emergency use only.
The light head (sold alone with E/O cord but without battery pack) can be powered by any existing battery system that has an output in the range of 10-20 volts and will give you hours of intense light.
Available also with the optional Light For Me Battery and Canister with E/O cord for divers who want to change between light heads or use their canister power for in-water heating through a Heated Vest with an E/O cord inlet.
