The MTX-R 2nd stage regulator performs in almost freezing water, something that very few other regulators on the consumer market can boast.
The reversible (right and left hand) second stage of the Apeks MTX-R has a redesigned and enlarged, patented, heat exchanger which surrounds the valve mechanism, dissipating the cold caused by gas expansion.
Metal has also been incorporated into the front cover. Large protective elastometer bumpers on the sides and top protect the 2nd stage, which comes with a comfo-bite mouthpiece.
In addition to its extreme cold water ability, the regulator is rugged, strong and designed to withstand the knocks and bumps that come with life on an expedition.
- Simple to use second stage with no dive adjustment controls and a reduced chance of free flow.
- Reversible (left or right hand)
- Patented heat exchanger surrounds the valve mechanism, dissipating the cold caused by gas expansion while drawing in the warmth of the ambient water.
- Comes with comfort-bite mouthpiece
The military has been using Apeks regulators for over 20 years and now Apeks have put that military expertise into a brand new military specification regulator, exclusively for the consumer market.
The “M” in MTX stands for Military and the “R” for recreational version and the new MTX-R is based on the MTX, a regulator that was developed in accordance with the United States Navy Experimental Dive Unit extreme cold water test.
Innovations in design mean that the MTX-R regulator performs in almost freezing water at a depth of over 60 metres, something that very few other regulators on the consumer market can boast.
Tested for octopus use to 60m in cold water, this regulator set from Apeks is truly unique. The MTX-R is not just an extremely reliable regulator but also very easy to service “ in the field”.
