DirDirect Terms & Conditions




The following Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which all goods (or "Products") are sold by Underwater Explorers Ltd. (“We", "Us", "Our") to the consumer, ("You", "Your") from www.dirdirect.com (our "Site").

www.dirdirect.com is operated by Underwater Explorers Ltd. Our physical trading address is Underwater Explorers, Unit 1, Maritime Business Centre, Mereside, Portland, Dorset DT5 1FD, United Kingdom. You may contact us on 01305 824 555 or by emailing us at sales@dirdirect.com.

We are registered in England under company number 5591766 - EORI number GB684884471000 and VAT number GB684884471. Our registered office address is Midland House, 2 Poole Road, Bournemouth BH2 5QY, United Kingdom.

Contract & Orders

  1. Any online purchase from our site will be governed by these terms to the exclusion of any other terms.  
  2. When placing an order with us, you are making an offer to purchase. The Contract between us commences only after we have agreed to the purchase offer.
  3. We reserve the right to reject any offer at our discretion at any time. Online orders may be declined in whole or in part at our absolute discretion whereby any payment submitted with the order will be refunded in UK pound sterling (GBP).
  4. Any product(s) on the same order not dispatched do not form part of that contract where any item(s) may be on backorder.
  5. All products advertised by us are subject to availability.
  6. The description of any product is set out in the product listing on this site but products shipped may slightly differ from the images as they are for graphic representation only.
  7. Prices listed on our site are subject to change without prior notice but such change will not reflect on any purchases already made. We may contact you if we cannot accept your order due to a pricing (or description) error on the site.
  8. By placing an order through our site, you warrant that you:
          - Hold a recognised diving qualification or are under training to the level where subject dive equipment will be used;
          - Are legally capable of entering a binding contract between you and us and our respective successors and assigns.
          - Are at least 18 years old and that you are aware of and accept our privacy, delivery and returns policies and terms.
  9. By placing an order through our site you consent that under Data Protection regulations and in order to fulfil our contract with you, you have to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, that our contractual obligation to you is our lawful basis to use and hold this information to process and conclude any order and that we can hold this information on encrypted/secure storage.
  10. Property of the product(s) shall pass to you only after your payment has cleared and as of the date the product(s) have been delivered to you.


  1. You can cancel your order at any time prior to dispatch towards a full refund.
  2. Orders for items manufactured or personalised to order, including but not limited to drysuits and undersuits, cannot be cancelled once in production.
  3. We reserve the right to cancel any order due to pricing errors, quality control issues or availability, towards an immediate full refund.

  1. We will ship anywhere in the world but for areas local or international restrictions and/or online trading restrictions may apply.
  2. Certain manufacturers have trading restrictions limiting our distribution area for online orders. We will contact you if your order cannot be accepted because of these.
  3. All orders for items that are in stock will be processed within 2 working days for dispatch and delivery.
  4. We aim to dispatch all goods within 7 working days of the order and will advise in writing if there are any exceptions to this. While we do our best to get your order to you as soon as we can, please allow 7 working days for UK and up to 14 working days for international deliveries.
  5. All international orders and high value UK orders will only be dispatched to the registered or verified card billing address. Orders paid for by PayPal will only be shipped to PayPal verified addresses. PO Box addresses will not be accepted.
  6. Risk of damage to or loss of the product shall pass to you at the point at which they are delivered or a courier package is signed for. Please check any package for possible damage and make sure the parcel is intact, unopened and undamaged before accepting/signing for it.

International deliveries are subject to the terms listed below.

Exports, duties, taxes & fees for International Orders

Please note you are responsible to ensure that any goods we export out of the UK for your use is allowed to be shipped and used in your country of residence.

  1. We do not charge UK Value Added Tax (VAT) for orders placed from outside the UK, including EU countries, as such goods qualify as VAT exempt “exports”. You accept that as the “importer” you will be liable for all local import fees, taxes and customs duties at the destination country. As charges vary from country to country, we have no control over these and it is your responsibility to cover them.
  2. If any international shipment is not collected and cannot be delivered due to failure to pay local import, custom and any admin charges or erroneous/insufficient address details provided by you, or refusal of delivery, or national laws preventing delivery of said goods, the shipment may be returned to us or even destroyed.
  3. If any shipment is destroyed for above reasons or damaged due to failure to clear customs and accept delivery, we will not be able to refund you.
  4. Outbound and inbound shipping charges will be deducted from any international shipment returned to us as consequence of failure to clear and accept delivery.
  5. Any outstanding duties, customs, penalties or additional fees will also be deducted from any refund as they are still payable even if the shipment is returned to us. We will not reship the same order if it is returned to us for the above reasons.


Please email us for a Returns Form before any return with reference to your order number, name and surname and the goods you wish to return, briefly noting reason for return. We are not liable for returns made without returns authorisation and cannot reimburse or cover any return postage costs incurred without prior approval.

If you believe we should cover any return postage costs (applicable only to warranty items, defects or erroneous shipments) you need to contact us in advance for authorisation and guidance on shipping or collection methods acceptable for any reimbursement.

  1. Damaged: If an item delivered is identified as damaged on delivery, you need to contact and inform us immediately. Any claim based on any defect in quality or condition of goods that have arrived must be notified to us in writing within 10 days of delivery after which you will be deemed to have accepted the products in undamaged condition.
  2. Faulty: To return an item you believe to be faulty or defective, you need to contact us within 30 days after receiving delivery of the goods to organise a return.
  3. Unwanted UK/EU: Provided goods are as new, unused, not modified or damaged in any way, customers should contact us within 14 days after receiving delivery to organise a return of unwanted goods towards a refund less any integrated shipping costs during dispatch. You are liable to cover your own return shipping cost. Post-Brexit EU customers will be required to cover any additional tariffs, duties or admin charges on goods sent back to the UK which, together with outbound shipping cost, can be deducted from any refund.
  4. Exchange: We do not offer an exchange service at current. Any unwanted items returned to us by UK/EU customers will be refunded subject to above article 3 and a new order can be placed on our site.
  5. International Returns: Unless an item is faulty or defective we do not currently accept unwanted item returns outside of the UK/EU due to delays in inbound UK custom procedures.
  6. If any item(s) shipped by us are not collected at the delivery address or rejected you are responsible for any return shipping costs as well as any extra charges.

  1. All products we supply conform to all relevant British and European standards.
  2. All products we sell online are supplied with a limited store and extended manufacturer warranty, the details of which are available on request.
  3. A warranty is non-transferable and extends to the original purchaser only, together with a valid proof of purchase.
  4. A warranty shall be void if any equipment is tampered with by a person (or persons) not authorised to perform service or modifications on behalf of the manufacturer after purchase.
  5. Goods not covered under warranty, have time limited warranty or are subject to conditions of maintenance and use for warranty purposes are clearly listed in our online Warranty Policy.
  6. Use of any purchased equipment from Underwater Explorers | DirDirect for rental, commercial, governmental or military purposes is not covered by warranty.
  7. If there is a defect in any of the products you receive from us, we can repair or replace the defective product(s) at our discretion free of charge.
  8. Any claim based on a defect in quality or condition of the goods (fault and/or suitability for use) received must be notified to us within 14 days of delivery in writing - after which you will be deemed to have accepted the products. If you believe a product  developed a fault or defect for any reason after this period you need to contact us as soon as possible.
  9. We cannot accept any liability for the use of or damage caused by any scuba diving or relevant equipment purchased from Underwater Explorers by non-certified or untrained persons, or the use of equipment beyond its described depths or limits, or the use of equipment outside or beyond its intended purpose.

Data Protection & Confidentially

  1. Any and all information collected on this site will be kept strictly confidential and will not be sold, reused, rented, disclosed, or loaned.
  2. We will never email or phone you unless it has something to do with an order or your use of our web site.
  3. When you provide us with personal information to create an account, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we ask you directly for your expressed consent to use that information to fulfil your request.
  4. Any information you provide on the site is encrypted and will be held with the utmost care, never used by us in ways that you have not consented to.
  5. None of the cookies used on this site store your credit card information which is handled separately and through reliable, secure and encrypted payment processing gateways where we do not have access to any sensitive payment information.
  6. We do not pass on any identifiable information to third parties. As the controller of information, we may be obliged to disclose personal data if we were legally required to do so based on UK jurisdiction.
  7. We aim to protect legitimate credit card owners from fraud and therefore will report to and cooperate with appropriate authorities investigating any person/entity attempting to use a card or payment method which they are not authorised to use.

  1. You are not entitled to assign or transfer any of your rights or obligations under this contract.
  2. This contract shall be governed by the laws of England and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
