The E/O cord version of Light For Me's 4TEC  diving torch allows the head and battery source to be connected and/or disconnected via the cord itself. It is identical to the original 4TEC with RCA connection other than the cord. The 4TEC is an ideal torch for "UK-like" diving conditions which may involve inwater particles and possible backscatter. It is a more compact version of the 7XML which uses seven of the same LEDs. The powerful 1200 lumen output of 4 LEDs in the 4TEC is focused into a tight 6° beam and complemented with 2 user selectable power settings (30% and 100%) to conserve battery.

The E/O cord version of Light For Me's 4Tec  diving torch allows the head and battery source to be connected and/or disconnected via the cord itself. It is identical to the original RCA 4TEC other than the cord.

If you do not have an E/O cord on your battery canister, the option E/O RCA cable can be purchased to complete the unit. The LFM 4TEC E/O Light Head can also be powered by any existing battery system if you already have a canister battery in the range of 10-20 volts with an E/O cord. On certain batteries a Y junction can be used on the E/O connector allowing a heating system and light to be used at the same time (turning one output into two). Unless you need an E/O cord version of the 4TEC the original 4TEC Lighthead can be used straight out of the box on all LFM canisters.

Light For Me 4TEC with eo CordIt's well known the (18W) 4TEC is an ideal torch for "UK-like" diving conditions which may involve inwater particles and possible backscatter. It is a more compact version of the 7XML which uses seven of the same LEDs. The powerful 1200 lumen output of 4 LEDs in the 4Tec is focused into a tight 6° beam and complemented with 2 user selectable power settings (30% and 100%) to conserve battery.

The 4TEC excels in burn times ranging from 5 to 20+ hours depending on size of battery and power setting. 4TEC's are widely used with the compact 4.4Ah ( ≈ 3.5 hours burntime on 100%) or the 6.75Ah (≈ 5.5 hours burntime on 100%) battery canisters. Just add a canister battery of your choice and you're ready to go!

The small and light torch head is equipped with a Piezo switch with is recessed to prevent accidental operation. A Piezo switch is reliable and easy to use with or without gloves - simply press it to change the light mode or switch it on and off. The 4TEC head is made from anodised aluminium and like all LFM light systems, is pressure tested to 100m prior to shipping from manufacturer.

Light for Me 4TEC Dive Light

LFM  cables are connected to the light head with a stainless steel gland and spring. The canister cable entry point on the battery is also the charging point for batteries that do not have two ports. All LFM lightheads come with custom made Goodman handles. LFM Goodman handles are also made from anodised aluminium, are light, height adjustable and comfortable. They also have additional holes for attachment/mounting.

If the 4TEC impresses you (and 1200 lumens truly should!) check out the  LFM Alexandra torch which is even smaller but with a massive output of 3600 lumens and wider beam to match it. Or if it's lots of power you need, an alternative could be the (100W) LFM 7XML with seven crees.

If the 4 Tec impresses you (and 1200 lumens truly should!) check out the new Light For Me Alexandra torch with a massive output of 3600 lumens, lower torch head profile and slightly wider beam...

OPTIONAL LFM RCA e/o CABLE

To link 4TEC e/o to your Light For Canister add optional Light For Me RCA Cable.

Note: After diving with the torch we highly recommend rinsing it thoroughly. The torch is made from anodised aluminium which means it is very durable but not resistant to alkaline environment. Such environment is present near the limestone rocks for example near the reefs or in some caves.

FAQ - What is an E/O Connector/Cord - do I need one?

E/O Fittings (wetmates) are versatile pluggable two-pin connectors which allow divers to utilise their batteries with more than one light head, heating systems etc. by allowing the diver to change what the battery powers. A male-female E/O connector at end of the battery side cord will require a male-female E/O connector on the cord leading to light head or heating system.  The term E/O comes from the first manufacturer of such fittings: Electro-Oceanic Inc. but current connectors on the market are totally new generation,  still referred to as E/O or underwater pluggable cords/connectors. E/O cords may require more care and maintenance than continuous cables especially when/if exposed to salt water. It is recommended the connectors are cleaned and well maintained between dives, not directly exposed to salty conditions.

If you are using your battery canister only to power up your torch, a standard cable will suffice. If you intend to change light heads or use the battery to power more than one element (i.e. torch and any heating system) ensure the battery meets the power requirement of both systems combined. E/O cord option on this item means the battery/canister will have a cord with E/O fitting at the end and the light-head will have a cord with mateable E/O fitting on the torch end. When not in use, each connector can be protected with a Blind [Dummy] Plug.

E/O Cable Connector AccessoriesE/O Y Connector & Blanking Plug

Wetmatable E/O connectors have a wide range of compatible accessories. E/O Y-connectors and Blind [Dummy] Plugs are the most popular accessories used by divers. The Y-connector, also called a Y-Splitter, consists of three waterproof two pole connectors in a single device allowing output to be shared between two devices/systems (i.e. two light heads, a light head and heating system etc) from the same power source. A Blind [Dummy] Plug is a simple two pole dummy connector for protecting unmated connectors against the elements.  These are ideal for heated vests and canister batteries during transport.

Keep in mind: E/O connectors are delicate and any contaminants such as grit, sand, salt residue and similar inside the connector will not allow a connection to be made and could irreversibly damage the cord end.
